Kat Falls — author of the Inhuman series and other YA novels — needed a clean, professional web presence that put her books front and center. Readers, publishers, librarians, and school media coordinators all land on an author site expecting different things: some want a book list, some want a bio, some want school visit info. The existing web presence didn't serve any of these audiences effectively, making it harder for the right people to find what they needed.
I designed and built a fully responsive author site with a clear content hierarchy, leading with her published works and biography. The visual identity uses a distinctive palette of gold, blue, and red against a crisp white background — warm and literary without being fussy. Navigation was structured to surface the most important paths immediately: books, about, and contact for school visits and media. The site was optimized for fast load times and accessibility across all devices, since school librarians and young readers often browse on older hardware.
